About Council of Caribbean Associations - Canada


The Council of Caribbean Associations - Canada (CCAC) is a registered non-profit umbrella organization launched in 2009, comprising of 14 registered Caribbean national Associations operating in the GTA.


The registered member organizations are:

  1. Antigua & Barbuda Association of Toronto (ABAT)
  2. Alliance of Guyanese Canadian Organizations (AGCO)
  3. Barbados Canada Association (BCA)
  4. Commonwealth of Dominica Ontario Association (CDOA)
  5. Grenada Association Toronto (GAT)
  6. Haitian Association Toronto
  7. Jamaica Diaspora Canada Foundation (JDCF)
  8. Montserrat Association of Toronto (MAT)
  9. National Association of Bahamians in Canada & Friends of the Bahamas
  10. NevCan Cultural Association Toronto (NevCan)
  11. St. Kitts & Nevis Association of Toronto (SKNAT)
  12. St. Lucia Toronto Association (SLTA)
  13. St. Vincent & Grenadines Association of Toronto (SVGAT)
  14. Trinidad & Tobago Association of Ontario (TTAO)

 

The organization aims among other things, is to work with other organizations in our community that represent and cater primarily to people of Caribbean descent who have made Canada their home. CCAC focuses on two major areas:


  1. to assist young persons in their pursuit of higher learning and sustainable employment.

  2. to work with our seniors to better provide them vital information to enhance their productivity in the golden years.

 

Mission

The mission of the Council is to unite and empower Caribbean associations across Canada, strengthen community leadership, and promote the cultural, social, and economic well-being of people of Caribbean heritage through collaboration, advocacy, and purposeful action.The mission of the Council is to unite and empower Caribbean associations across Canada, strengthen community leadership, and promote the cultural, social, and economic well-being of people of Caribbean heritage through collaboration, advocacy, and purposeful action.

 

Goals and Objectives


  1. To advance education within the Caribbean-Canadian community by providing scholarships, bursaries, mentorship, skills-training, career development programs, and informational workshops for youth and adults.

  2. To enhance social support by providing access to information, social programming, wellness initiatives, and community engagement activities that promote stability, well-being, and improved quality of life for vulnerable community members.

  3. To ensure representation and promotion of the interests of all member Associations.
